LAST UPDATES:
UPDATED 08/02/2008:

"MAJOR LEAGUE" - added game w/photos and videos of White Sox  vs. Red Sox from 08/09/2008
"PERFORMANCES" - added Jacoby Ellsbury and Jim Thome HR's to major league home runs category.
LAST GAME:
August 9th, 2008
6:05 PM

Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox
-US Cellular Field, Chicago Illinois

Last row of the upper deck, but it was still a lot of fun. Big Papi missed a Grand Slam by only inches, as the ball hit the top of the wall and came back for a bases clearing double. White Sox fans were greatly outnumbered by a sea of Red Sox fans at US Cellular Field. Jim Thome hit a home run in the ninth inning which I captured completely on video. That's now two HR videos total that I have caught with the camera rolling. Daisuke Matsuzaka completely shut down the White Sox offense giving up only 4 hits and 1 run in 8 complete innings. Also a somber moment at the ballpark in memory of Chicago native and life long White Sox fan, Bernie Mac, who passed away the morning of this game.

NEXT GAME: BASEBALL VACATION 2008!

August 25th, 2008
6:05 PM (first game)
& 7:05 PM, or 20 minutes after the ending of the first game.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago White Sox
-Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore Maryland

Behind Home home plate in lower deck. Premium seats to this one! Orioles don't have exactly a stellar lineup right now, but I am looking forward very much to being able to take in a game at one of the best ballparks in the majors, Camden Yards! Of course they will also be finishing the end of a suspended game from April in addition to seeing the regularly scheduled game.

Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
- Nationals Park, Washington D.C.

Premium seats just past the Nationals dugout, right by 1st base. They are approx 10 rows from the field in the lower box seating. This is the first year of Nationals Park, which means we will see a game during its inaugural season. Weeks ago I was disappointed that the Red Sox traded Ramirez, and I wouldn't see him on this trip. Then five seconds later, I realized he was traded to the Dodgers, and the Nationals are playing the Dodgers! I'll just see him play two days earlier than expected, that's not so bad.

August 27th, 2008

Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets
- Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia Pennsylvania

More premium seats! About 20 rows behind home plate to see the Phillies and Mets continue their heated NL East rivalry. Four years after turning down a chance to visit Citizens Bank Park for PNC Park, I am finally going to see a game in the city of brotherly love. Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Pat Burrell, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, David Wright, and so on.. this game is loaded with a high profile lineup from both teams.

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox
- Yankee Stadium, New York New York

Not exactly premium seats, but they are lower level just past 3rd base. With the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry being the hottest ticket in all of baseball, I was lucky to find a pair of tickets at somewhat affordable (not really) price that weren't in the upper deck. Should be a wonderful game, after all, this is the whole purpose of my vacation, to visit Yankee Stadium before the wrecking ball does.

For those who don't know me personally, I am David McCann. I am 23 years old and this portion of the website is to share my hobby with everyone - going to Major League Baseball games, and starting in 2007, Minor League Baseball games as well. I have always been a baseball fan and have been to 30 Major League games between 2003 and 2007.

However, in 2006 my last website (davidmccann.net) went offline and I lost all of my pictures from that point. I was able to recover some pictures, but not all. Because I never knew this would eventually become a hobby, I didn't save most of my early pictures onto disks, which I regret now.

Growing up, I was a huge Seattle Mariners fan. But when the Seattle Mariners team from the 1990's fell apart and guys like Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr, & Tino Martinez left and went to other teams, my interest in the Mariners kind of fell apart also. I had went to one Cubs game in 1994 and two White Sox vs. Mariners games in 1995. Then I wouldn't go to another game until 8 years later.

I started out just going to White Sox games by myself in 2003, shortly after I got my first car and had some real "freedom". I went to White Sox games mainly to see other AL teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Angels, but didn't really care for the White Sox at the time. I also made it to two Cubs games that year, but Cubs tickets were far more expensive, and US Cellular Field (White Sox) was only a 55 minute drive from my home in Indiana. I ended up going to 7 White Sox games and 2 Cubs games that year.

Little did I know that just going to those games in 2003 would spark my interest in trying to attend as many different baseball stadiums as possible. In 2004, I was able to go to Fenway Park in Boston for a Red Sox game (2 months before they won the World Series), Shea Stadium in NY, PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Busch Stadium in St. Louis, and the next year Miller Park. Then in 2007 my wife and I visited Jacobs Field in Cleveland.

I have attended 5 MLB games in 2008 at three different parks, and over the next two weeks I will be visiting four games at four different stadiums. All of my game pages will have comments and game performance (box scores) listed. I like to keep track of who I have seen play, and who I have seen hit home runs. All games from the beginning for 2006 (some prior to 2006) will have pictures. Also starting in 2007, I will be posting video clips that I have taken from my digital camera for at least the major league games.
